UNECE seventh session of the Team of Specialists on PPPs

The United Nations will in 2015 adopt the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which will shape the agenda of the international community for the next 15 years. The emphasis of the SDGs is on access to key public services (water and sanitation, energy, education, health) and on building sustainable and resilient infrastructure. The UNECE has in 2014 started a process of developing PPP standards for the SDGs, and the first draft PPP standards will be presented at the seventh session of the Team of Specialists on PPPs (TOS PPP) in London, UK, on 18 June 2015.

These include: 

  • A charter on zero tolerance to corruption in PPP procurement; 
  • A standard on PPPs in health policy; and 
  • A scorecard and a commentary for implementing good governance practices in PPP units.
